“Color is the place where our brain and the universe meet.”

Paul Klee

I have always been intrigued by color—the way color interacts with other colors especially. Juxtaposition of color and the endless possibilities for mixing new colors excite me.

I am informed by the natural world-the textures, the light play, the myriad combinations of shape and form, the symmetry and randomness of nature. Most of my ideas start in the outside world.

Coming to the visual art process at this stage of my life has felt like finally walking into a room that I knew existed but could never really find the door to, until now. It feels right and natural and honest. It is a wondrous and ever-surprising journey.

My early careers in filmmaking and the high-end jewelry world have helped to refine my sense of process and my ability to appreciate beauty. Filmmaking helped me to understand the power of composition, jewelry helped me to see the difference between the ordinary and the exquisite.
